THERE'S SOMETHING NEW IN ART:
Most of us are fascinated with Masks.
They speak to us on many levels and remind us of ourselves.
This gallery of masks by Judith Edge, appropriately called
" A PLAY OF LIGHT "
presents a series of evocative faces mounted to Acrylite.
Judith has used the computer to "paint" these masks.
Harnessing light for its function; the computer's electron guns
shoot streams of electrons, one for each of the primary (light) colors,
Red, Green, and Blue.
A pixel is created by these several adjoining points of light.
So these masks are created with light: they are mounted to Acrylite
which draws light into the image like the principle of fibre optics.
Acrylite gives these masks a marvelously sculptural effect and
is seemingly inseparable from the image.
These MASK WALL SCULPTURES present a new view of the image
every time you turn around. They seemingly move with the day
as the day moves throughout its spectrum of light in a room.
